The project “Integrated Digital Platform for Submitting, Managing, and Monitoring Requests for Improving the Daily Lives of Citizens of the Municipality of Kozani Using Smart Applications” aims to create a modern, functional, and user-friendly digital platform that will serve as the main channel of communication between citizens and municipal services.

The platform brings together all the municipality’s services in a single environment, enabling citizens to submit requests electronically, track their progress, and receive immediate updates. At the same time, it equips the Municipality with tools for organization, statistical analysis, and process automation, enhancing the transparency and efficiency of municipal operations.

The solution is based on modern cloud, web, and mobile technologies, offering high availability, security, and scalability, while being fully interoperable with the Municipality’s existing information systems through open standards and APIs.

Citizen Request Management Subsystem

This is the “heart” of the project, allowing citizens to submit electronic requests to municipal services via the internet or a mobile app. Each request is assigned a unique registration number and can be tracked in real time, while services are automatically notified of new incidents. The subsystem includes mechanisms for categorization, search, alerts, and statistical reports.

Content Management System (CMS)

Enables municipal staff to create and manage announcements, updates, and multimedia content. Provides an easy-to-use management environment, file and image uploading capabilities, and functions for organizing information by topic.

Citizen Communication Subsystem

It includes tools for mass or targeted communication, such as sending informational messages (email, SMS, push notifications), newsletters, and real-time updates. It allows for two-way communication, so that citizens can receive responses or instructions from municipal services immediately.

Reporting and Analysis Subsystem

It collects all data generated by the operation of individual applications and presents it in dynamic dashboards. Managers can extract statistics, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify areas for improvement in the services provided.

Identity and Security Management Subsystem

Ensures access control and data protection by implementing user authentication via LDAP and Single Sign-On (SSO). Supports role-based access control policies for rights management, as well as audit logs.

Data Management Subsystem (Database Layer)

This forms the foundation of all applications, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. It is based on modern databases with backup, recovery, and scalability capabilities, while supporting fast search and interconnection of information between subsystems.

Mobile Applications and Smart Interfaces

They offer citizens the ability to access all services from mobile devices, with a user-friendly and adaptive design. The applications support notifications, interactive maps, and geolocation for reporting problems or requests in real time.

This integrated platform makes the Municipality of Kozani a smart, interconnected, and participatory city, where technology serves the daily lives of citizens, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and sustainable urban development.
