The project “Supply and installation of smart city and sustainable urban mobility systems” aims to comprehensively upgrade the operation and image of the Municipality of Oreokastro through the use of advanced technological solutions and digital infrastructure. Through the integration of four separate subsystems, accessibility, environmental awareness, energy efficiency, and the quality of life for residents and visitors are enhanced.

Wireless Internet Access System (Free WiFi)

The Free WiFi system provides free wireless internet access at busy locations in the Municipality, enhancing digital cohesion, accessibility, and the tourist experience. The infrastructure includes high-speed equipment, a secure connection, and an easy-to-use access mechanism for citizens and visitors.

Environmental Measurement System

The system consists of sensors that record critical environmental parameters such as air quality, temperature, humidity, and noise pollution levels. The data is collected and displayed on a platform, contributing to informed decision-making on environmental issues and sustainable development actions.

Smart Urban Equipment Systems (Seats/Benches)

These are advanced seats or benches equipped with photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, and USB charging ports for mobile devices. They combine functionality and modern aesthetics, offering an upgraded public space with an emphasis on energy self-sufficiency and innovation.

Remote Control System for Public Infrastructure and Networks

This system allows remote control and management of critical infrastructure (such as lighting, information signs, sensors) within the intervention area. It offers programming, automation, and notification capabilities, contributing to energy efficiency and reduced operating costs for the Municipality.
