Dotsoft SA, Key Partner for Vodafone Smart City Applications, at Giga Campus by Vodafone & Demokritos

Dotsoft SA – SMART CITY SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR, at Best City AWARDS 2023 – with long expertise and experience in the development and support of complex projects in the Local Government market, participated on Friday 27 January 2023, as a key partner of Vodafone, in the presentation that was organized for elected officials and local government officials on the subject of Smart Cities applications. The event took place at the premises of the National Center for Natural Sciences Research – EKEFE Demokritos where the smart city applications installed on the Campus were presented in real operation.

The president of Dotsoft, Mr. Manos Anastasios, presented the SmartisCity central smart city platform as well as the Datagers smart city operating platform that have been installed and are operating productively at EKEFE Dimokritos. These are systems that have been developed entirely by DOTSOFT and are currently operating productively in more than 30 municipalities throughout Greece.

Giga Campus by Vodafone & Demokritos is a strategic collaboration between Vodafone and Demokritos. It is an innovation ecosystem, which aims to support the acceleration of Greece’s digital transformation through the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G and will function as a living laboratory of expository technologies, utilizing the most innovative applications of the 4th industrial revolution. Already, 11 IoT applications have been installed at EKEFE Dimokritos, with the aim of strengthening the country’s businesses in the effort for a more sustainable and digital future.

The event was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Thodoris Livanios, who spoke about the government’s actions regarding the Digital Agenda, but also the opportunities of Local Government Organizations for Digital Transformation within the context of the Recovery Fund and the NSRF.

The event was attended by Mayors, elected officials and officials of the Local Government from the Municipalities of Ioannina, Mandra – Idyllia, Xanthi, Heraklion Crete, Piraeus, Trikala, Rafina, Ilio, Marousi, Aigaleo, Korydallo, Agioi Anargyroi – Kamatero, Petroupoli, Elliniko – Argyroupoli, Chaidari, Megara, Metamorfosi, Elefsina, Agia Varvara, Peristeri, Kos, Byron, Ilioupoli, Paiania, but also from the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE).

During presentation, local government officials, had the opportunity to see live the applications developed by Vodafone in collaboration with DOTSOFT SA, at the Giga Campus of Dimokritos and at the Lefkippos Technology Park.

On the occasion of the successful organization of the event, the General Manager of Vodafone Business, Giorgos Tzanetakos said: “Giga Campus by Vodafone & Demokritos is a model smart city – perhaps the most advanced in the country – and acts as a case study for the possibilities it promises to bring technology to the citizens, businesses and organizations of Greece.
