The project aims at the rational management of critical service areas by the Municipality of Konitsa such as: waste management, vehicle fleet management, electronic services to citizens and the organization and distribution of land use and spatial planning data. The project also includes the supply of equipment for the free access of citizens and visitors to a small-scale wireless network at ten (10) public hot spots. The set of applications manages a unified internet infrastructure, which collects data from the individual equipment and will display the most important events at the city level, offering complete information to the administration of the Municipality. The Municipality of Konitsa has a set of digital applications for:

1. participation of citizens in daily issues of the Municipality by using an electronic application via mobile phones to report faults, record everyday problems and monitor their development by the respective deputy mayors, with full monitoring of the progress of each request per community of the Municipality
2. checking the fullness of the bins located in remote areas and in crowded places
3. control of the movement of garbage trucks, civil protection vehicles as well as construction site vehicles using an advanced fleet monitoring and management system
4. the monitoring and management of electricity consumption bills for all services of the Municipality to avoid power theft
5. the management of the geospatial information infrastructure of the Municipality through the appropriate planning, scheduling, organization, management of its data (interactive geospatial data portal)
6. the free access of the citizens and the visitors to the wireless network (WiFi) that will be extended to ten (10) points (squares) within the limits of the Municipality
7. the complete management and collection of data from all the above applications in a single online Smart City platform.
8. the projection of the data collected from all the above applications to the citizens through an Internet Portal which has been integrated with the existing internet infrastructure of the Municipality (web site).
