The project aims at the rational management of critical service areas by the Municipality of Nikolaos Skoufas such as (indicative report of eligible actions): energy management of buildings and electricity networks, waste management, monitoring of the budget of the Municipality, electronic services to citizens, the management of the drinking water network and the operation of the site management mechanism. In addition, the proposal includes the supply of equipment for the free access of citizens and visitors to a small-scale wireless network in ten (10) public hot spots.

The Municipality of Skoufa with the solutions of the company DOTSOFT has a complete system for:

• monitoring and managing power consumption in public buildings using appropriate sensors in their panels
• the monitoring and management of the electricity consumption bills for all the benefits of the Municipality for the prevention of power theft
• controlling the fullness of the bins located in remote areas and in crowded places such as schools, public buildings, KAPI, churches, rural clinics, etc.
• control of the movement of garbage trucks, civil protection vehicles as well as construction site vehicles using an advanced fleet monitoring and management system
• the continuous monitoring of the execution of the budget of the Municipality in order to facilitate the decision making during the year
• the participation of citizens in daily issues of the Municipality using the proposed electronic platform for consultation and participatory budget as well as the application (native) via mobile phones to report faults, record everyday problems and monitor their development by the respective deputy mayors
• the management of Hydrometers (Y / M) within the boundaries of the Municipality. The application manages the register of Hydrometers of the Municipality and provides access using a username and password to the register of water supply services of the Municipality. At the same time, the application with the use of free software, open source software (EL / LAC) offers the recording and coding of water supply services in the geographical area of ​​the Municipality (using an application for the mobile phones of the water meter staff) in combination with the data processing recording and the creation of a file for the introduction in the financial management software of the Municipality
• free access of the citizens and the visitors to the wireless network (WiFi) that will be created in ten (10) points (squares) within the limits of the Municipality

With smart city applications, the Municipality of Nikolaos Skoufa makes full use of information and communication technologies to control and improve the quality of services provided to its citizens, reducing operating costs in the fields of electricity, waste and site management mechanism. but also the effective management of crises within the boundaries of the Municipality.
